Shafaq News/ Iran has discovered a new natural gas field, with reserves of 19 trillion cubic feet in Fars province south of the country, The Iranian Oil Ministry website reported.

"The new natural gas field in the southern part of Fars province contains 19 trillion cubic feet," the website quoted Reza Dehghan, deputy head of Iran's National Oil Company, as saying.

Iran's natural gas reserves are the second largest in the world, but the country has not become a major exporter so far due to decades of international sanctions.
