The Vice President of KRG, Qubad Talabani said in a statement to the regional government, reported for "Shafaq News", that in order to continue in the reconstruction and construction process in Kurdistan through the completion of projects, KRG decided to add compensatory period not exceeding 120 days for all projects in the unfinished public sector.

The statement said that this decision aimed to continue the reconstruction campaign and prosperity of the region, and provide services to citizens through the completion of projects, noting that the current and unusual conditions that Kurdistan Region is going through were studied to meet the demands of contractors after a series of meetings.

The resolution called on all departments and institutions of KRG and those who manage these public projects, to work in order to facilitate the completion of these projects and to get away from the routine aspects, pointing out that the main goal is to finish the projects.

It  is worth mentioning that Kurdistan is already suffering from a financial crisis after the government of former Iraqi Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki cut off the region’s share of the budget since the beginning of this year, as it has been exposed to a big exodus wave of the population from neighboring provinces as Nineveh, Salahuddin, Kirkuk and Diyala since last June after the control ISIS terrorists over large areas and threatening the region as well as what security and military measures have required to counter the threat of terrorists.
