Shafaq News / Baghdad Operations Command reported on Thursday that security personnel were injured by a grenade attack in central Baghdad.

"Two members were injured after being exposed to a grenade in al- Khilani Square in the center of the capital," the leadership said in a statement received  by Shafaq News.

Clashes have been taking place in different periods between security forces and demonstrators in al-Khilani Square for weeks, which leads to the injuries of most of the protesters.

Iraq has witnessed unprecedented protests since the beginning of last October, accompanied with violence that left about 600 people dead, as well as thousands of injured.
