Shafaq News/ Underneath Al-Jumhuriya Bridge, which connects the two parts of the Iraqi capital, there are new tales added to the momentum of the protests that have been sweeping Iraq for days.
Among these stories, protesters risk their lives in order to save their colleagues who were shot during the clashes days, rejecting corruption and foreign interference in Iraqi affairs.
Video footage was documented on networks of demonstrators walking on the edge of Al-Jumhuriya Bridge over Tigris River. A colleague was tied after he appeared to have been injured in the clashes and unable to move.
It was very difficult for the well protester to move down the bridge, relying on holding on the iron protruding. The injured protester was tied on his back to reach the river bank and eventually succeeded.
This is only part of the "tournaments" documented under the vital bridge in Baghdad, overlooking Tahrir Square where the protests, and the heavily fortified Green Zone, where government headquarters and Western embassies are located.
The top of the bridge was a scene of clashes between protesters and security forces, which prevented them from forcibly reaching the Green Zone.
The pioneers of the websites in Iraq also posted a video showing what they said was Doctor Reem, as she crossed down the bridge, until she got to the wounded demonstrators there and began to help them, despite the danger of falling into the river or facing bullets.
Footages also showed moments of taking a wounded demonstrator down after another protester pulled him by a rope on the bridge.
Many praised the morale, organization and sense of responsibility of the demonstrators towards their colleagues.
