Shafaq News / The Commission of Integrity announced on Thursday the details of the ruling a sentence issued against the head of Dur-Kurigalzu Maintenance Project Mission, indicating that it caused damage to public funds.

The investigation department at the commission pointed out that the convict caused public damage to the money and interests of the commission in which he worked, by committing violations during heading the mission of Dur-Kurigalzu Maintenance Project, pointing to his receipt of financial advances that he didn’t pay back from the Ministry of Culture; to more than one billion dinars and a quarter of a billion.

The commission added that Al-Rusafa criminal court specialized in integrity issues reached the full conviction of the accused being shortened, after reviewing the evidence obtained in the case in which the body investigated and referred it to the judiciary, represented in the statements of the legal representative of the Ministry of Culture, that requested a complaint against the accused and the administrative investigation that included his dereliction and referring him to justice, In addition to the statements of witnesses and the presumption of his escape.

It indicated that the court issued a judgment in absentia with imprisonment for a period of seven years in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code, and issuing an arrest and investigation order against him, in addition to supporting the seizure of his movable and immovable properties, and preserving the (Ministry of Culture) right to seek compensation before the civil courts
