Shafaq News / The Parliamentary Bloc of Al-Hikma (Wisdom) Movement, led by Ammar Al-Hakim revealed on Tuesday renouncing its ministerial representation and not participating in the government of the Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kathemi.
MP of Al-Hikma Ali Al-Budeiri told Shafaq News that “Al-Hikma Movement informed the Prime Minister-designate of renouncing its entitlement and ministerial representation and not participating in the next government.”
He added that “Al-Hikma empowered Al-Kathemi and gave him wide authority in choosing the candidates he deems appropriate to take over the ministerial portfolios in the next government," stressing that "the movement is still supportive to Al-Kathemi in order to form his independent government."
On April 9 this year, President of the Republic Barham Salih authorized Al-Kathimi to form the government within 30 days, less than an hour after the former Prime Minister-designate, Adnan al-Zorfi, announced his apology for this task.
The indications suggest that Al-Kathemi’s mission will be easy in light of the support he received from most of the Shi’ite, Sunni, and Kurdish political blocs.
