Shafaq News/ Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ,Adel Abdul Mahdi held a meeting of security leaders at the Federal Police Headquarters on Saturday.

A brief statement issued by Abdul-Mahdi's office this evening said that "the situation in Baghdad and the provinces and ways of enhancing security and stability were monitored in cooperation with citizens."

This comes at a time when the leader of the Sadrist movement ,Muqtada al-Sadr demanded the Iraqi government and its President ,Adel Abdul Mahdi to resign from their posts in the wake of the bloody protests in the capital Baghdad and a number of predominantly Shiite provinces in the country.
