Shafaq News/ A civilian activist has survived an assassination attempt in Dhi Qar province in southern Iraq, a police source said on Thursday.

The source told Shafaq News that the civil activist, Yusuf al-Jabri was the target of a failed assassination attempt in Khnaitla area in Souk al-Shuoq district of where gunmen opened fire from a yellow car on his car.

This comes at a time the capital Baghdad preparing and a number of central and southern provinces are preparing to come out in a million demonstrations on Friday.
