Shafaq News / Baghdad Operations Command announced on Wednesday that it had opened four areas that protesters might control in the center of the capital after agreeing with them, warning at the same time from rushing outside al-Tahrir Square, which it said is fully secured.

The leadership stated in a statement today, "Since the peaceful demonstrators have identified the protest area in Tahrir Square, a protection force has been assigned to them , the demonstration area and started to open other areas (Al-Khilani, Al-Rashid Street, Al Wathba Square and Al-Sinak bridge).

The statement added that "work is now underway to raise sectors and clean up areas."

The statement added that "the leadership emphasizes the continuous cooperation with peaceful demonstrators inside Tahrir Square," warning "from rushing out of Tahrir Square or using the means that come in the field of violence against security forces because they will take legal measures against them in accordance with human rights standards and the laws in force."

The engineering effort in Baghdad Operations Command began this morning, Wednesday, to lift the concrete barriers from Al-Sinak Bridge in the center of the capital, and opened the bridge in front of the movement of vehicles.

Clashes erupted with protesters in the early morning hours, when security forces began directing to reopen the bridge.

Witnesses said that the area witnessed a heavy security spread and the return of vehicle traffic in preparation for opening the bridge.
