Shafaq News/ Salahuddin Operations Command have launched on Wednesday a large-scale military operation to hunt down ISIS elements in the eastern Tigris axis towards Samarra.

As Brigadier General, Ali al-Lami, commander of the Fourth Division of the Federal Police, along with Brigadier General, Mohammed Allawi, Director of Operations of the Fourth Division of the Federal Police and five of their bodyguards were killed in an "ambush" by the remnants of ISIS in al-Bazul area behind al-Asheq Palace in Samarra.
