Shafaq News / This morning, demonstrators blocked the road leading to al- Rumaila oil field in Basra Governorate, southern Iraq.
The protesters closed the same field on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that Rumaila fields are a group of discovered oil wells, which oil is actually invested, and it extends from the middle of Basra west to the north of the State of Kuwait and is called in Kuwait al- Ratqa field. Rumaila fields are divided into two parts: the northern Rumaila, and the southern Rumaila, adjacent to Kuwait. It is the ninth largest global oil field, and with its layers the finest types of oil.
The demonstrators in the governorates of the southern oil-rich countries have cut off since last October the roads leading to the fields, oil sites and ports to stop work in protest against the difficult living conditions they are enduring, and not benefiting from the economic resources they have.
