Shafaq News / The representative of Al-Hikma (Wisdom) Bloc, Ali Al-Budeiri  announced on Sunday that the Prime Minister-designate, Adnan Al-Zorfi, has 170 parliamentary votes, which qualifies him to gain the confidence of Parliament.

Al-Badiri told Shafaq News that "the Prime Minister-designate will send a letter in the coming hours to the parliament regarding identifying the voting session to give confidence to the government."

He added that "Al-Zorfi owns approximately 170 MPs from different political blocs," noting that "Parliament will grant confidence to Al-Zorfi in case the session is held at its appointed time."

On Saturday, Al-Zorfi submitted his government’s program to Parliament, accompanied by a request to renew the confidence-giving session for his cabinet, which had been completed.

Al-Zorfi faces opposition from prominent Shiite forces, headed by the Al-Fatah coalition led by Hadi al-Amiri and the State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki.
