Shafaq News / The National Wisdom Movement headed by Ammar al-Hakim revealed on Wednesday, the goal of offering the name of the head of the intelligence service, Mustafa al-Kathemi, as a candidate to head the next government instead of Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zorfi.
"The goal of the political forces to nominate Al-Kathemi as prime minister is to thwart Adnan al-Zorfi’s mandate and not to form the next government," MP of wisdom bloc ,Asad al-Badri told Shafaq News.
He added that "Al-Zorfi gaining the confidence of the parliament became impossible in light of the Shiite forces' rejection and Al-Kathemi's candidacy in his place."
Al-Fateh coalition, headed by Hadi al-Amiri announced Monday, that the Shiite forces are close to naming an alternative character for the Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zorfi, indicating that the latter depends on American pressure.
The leaders of the state of law Nuri al-Maliki, Al-Fateh ,Hadi al-Amiri and wisdom movement, Ammar al-Hakim, agreed on Sunday on the replacement of Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zorfi, this came during a meeting among the three leaders, according to what a source close to the leader of the wisdom movement, Ammar al-Hakim told Shafaq News.
The source said that "the three leaders agreed to assign the current Iraqi intelligence chief, Mustafa al-Kathemi, a substitute for the current prime minister-designate, Adnan al-Zorfi."
They can only submit Al-Kathemi's name as a candidate if Al-Zorfi fails to pass his government in Parliament within the constitutional deadline.
As those refuse to assign al-Zorfi and consider him too close to America, while armed Shiite factions close to Iran describe him as an intelligence agent.
Al-Maliki, Al-Amiri and Al-Hakim agreement comes after a recent secret visit by the leader of the Iranian "Quds Force", Ismail Qaani to Iraq in an effort to make the relations return among the Shiite forces on forming the forthcoming government, according to observers.
