Shafaq News / the Iraqi Forces Alliance led by Muhammad Al-Halbousi revealed today, Monday, the blockade of Al-Tarmia district, north of Baghdad calling on the government to send "reassurance" messages to the people.
"The people of Al-Tarmia are living in a state of terror, because of the accusation that they are an incubator of ISIS," Alliance member Laith al-Dulaimi said to Shafaq News agency, noting that "these people suffered a lot from this organization, which killed many of them."
Al-Dulaimi added, "Al-Tarmia has been in a complete lockdown for days by the security forces," calling on "the Iraqi government and political forces to reassure the people, who suffered a lot.”
Earlier, the brigade commander of the 59th brigade in the Iraqi Army General Ali Ghaidan was killed in Al-Tarmia district in Baghdad, while a security source reported that all entrances and exits of the district were closed after the attack.
Later, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, issued an urgent directive to arrest the killers of the commander.
