Shafaq News / The Speaker of the Parliament , Muhammad Al-Halbousi ignored a previous call of his deputy, Hassan Al-Kaabi on Sunday by issuing a new order about convening an urgent session to give confidence to the government of Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi.
Al-Halbousi called in a statement received by Shafaq News, the Presidency of the parliament to "hold a meeting tomorrow, Monday at 11 am, based on Article 10 of the internal system of the parliament, to consider the request made to hold an urgent session to form the new government and determine the date of the session."
Earlier on Sunday, Al-Kaabi said that the session of granting confidence will take place next Wednesday.
The session was supposed to be held tomorrow, Monday, at the invitation of the resigned Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi.
However, Al-Halbousi said that the date of the session cannot be determined unless the government program and the curriculum vitae of ministerial candidates arrive.
Allawi was named after a consensus between the leader of al-Fateh Alliance of the Hadi al-Amiri and the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr.
However, he is facing widespread objections from the Kurdish and Sunni political forces as well as the popular movement, which demands an independent personality far from subordination to the parties and abroad.
