Shafaq News/ Nineveh Governor ,Najm al-Jubouri said on Wednesday that the local government is seeking to invest the shrines in the province in the field of promotion and development of religious tourism and upgrade them to reach Najaf and Karbala provinces in order to achieve financial revenues.

Jubouri said in a speech during the opening of the International Forum for Investment and Reconstruction in Nineveh held in the capital Erbil that the population in Nineveh is 4 million people and what does the federal government allocate to the province of annual financial budget does not exceed one billion dollars, indicating that this will not help in the reconstruction of the province if we did not rely on investment.

He noted that there is a good atmosphere and structure to invest in Nineveh and after the liberation there are companies working in it.

Jubouri said that Mosul city, the city of the prophets and many shrines, and as Najaf and Karbala achieve billions from the religious tourism, Nineveh can achieve the same revenues if invested in the rehabilitation and construction of shrines and religious sites.
