Shafaq News / The leader in Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Hoshiar Zebari urged to support Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's government.
Zebari said in a post, "The countdown to the presentation of Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's cabinet to Parliament has begun. The Shiite blocs have objections to their ministerial shares with the prime minister-designate."
“The Shiite blocs want to put the blame on the Kurds in the failure to pass the cabinet. Knowing that the Kurds supported Al-Kadhimi from the first day and made concessions to him for his success."
"Therefore, he must be supported - Al-Kadhimi - in his noble endeavor to form the next government because Iraq and the region are at the gates of hell,” he added.
A political source said on Saturday, that Al-Fateh coalition led by Hadi Al-Amiri informed the Prime Minister-designate of his opposition to the nomination of a number of personalities as ministers in the new cabinet, while he indicated that Al-Kadhimi will make an amendment before submitting the formation to Parliament.
The source told Shafaq News that "the Al-Fateh Alliance informed Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kadhimi at the meeting of political forces of its opposition to the nomination of a number of personalities in the last amended list."
He explained that "the contested candidates are Harith Hassan for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hassan Nazem for the Ministry of Higher Education, Hashem Dawood for the Ministry of Culture, and Kadhim Al-Sahlani for the Ministry of Labor."
"These ministries are from the share of the conquest," noting that "Al-Kadhimi will make a final amendment to the cabinet, before submitting it to the parliament ,” the source added.
The two informed sources had informed Shafaq News, on Saturday, that Parliament Speaker Mohamed Al-Halbousi had invited representatives to come to Baghdad on Monday in preparation for a special session to consider giving confidence to the government of Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
One of the sources pointed out that "the parliaments will hold a session of granting confidence to the Al-Kadhimi government on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week."
At the time of his assignment, Al-Kadhimi won the support of most of the major political forces in the three Shiite, Kurdish, and Sunni components, as they promised to give confidence to his government formation through its parliamentary blocs in the parliament .
However, Al-Kadhimi has not yet been able to announce his government formation due to the differences taking place among the political forces over the distribution of ministerial portfolios, especially the sovereign ones.
