Shafaq News / The Prime Minister and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kadhimi has ordered on Wednesday, on his first visit to the Ministry of Defense after assuming the position, to strict weapons in the state, stressing that the ministry is for “all Iraqis."
Al- Kadhimi made a visit to the Ministry of Defense this morning, and was received by the Minister of Defense and senior leaders and officers,” Al-Kadhimi’s office said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
The statement pointed out that Al-Kadhimi held a meeting in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Juma'a Anad Al-Jubouri, and the leaders of the formations, officers, and commanders upon his arrival at the Ministry’s headquarters, during which he reaffirmed the military’s commitment to its national and professional tasks, imposing its prestige and respect, and defending Iraq’s sovereignty, security, and stability,”
Al-Kadhimi stressed that "the Ministry of Defense is for all Iraqis and is keen to fulfill its duty to protect the Iraqi people and their democratic system, to avoid politicization and factional interests." He also stressed "to continue to ISIS fight and to address any terrorist attack and prevent the use of weapons outside the state."
Al-Kadhimi saluted "the martyrs and wounded of the armed forces, and the efforts of officers and ranks in various classes and formations."
