Shafaq News / A number of demonstrators in Tahrir Square in the capital, Baghdad made on Monday shields, a day after clashes with security forces.
The protestors made shields from "barrels", and a number of them spoke to Shafaq News Agency, that the purpose is to protect themselves from gas bombs or bullets fired by the security forces.
After about four months of cautious calm,Tahrir Square in the center of the capital, Baghdad, returned to the forefront of the scene, where yesterday, tensions and clashes renewed between protesters and riot police.
These accelerated developments come a few hours after Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed to release the demonstrators except those involved in killings, which was implemented by the Judicial Council by announcing the release of those arrested on the issue of demonstration.
The riot forces fired tear gas in an attempt to prevent the demonstrators from advancing towards the closed Jumhoriya bridge for more than 7 months and thus crossing into the fortified Green Zone (government headquarters).
