Shafaq News/ The member of the Parliament for the Alliance of Iraqi forces , Ahmed Mazhar al-Jubouri confirmed on Wednesday that his alliance is not "willing or aspirant to the post of prime minister."

"We in the Alliance of forces are unwilling and do not aspire to the post of prime minister and we believe in the national balances approved by the Constitution," Jubouri said in a press statement.

He added that "the situation in the country does not tolerate the emergence of any new crisis and everyone must overcome this stage to implement legitimate demands without negative repercussions."

Jubouri announced the support of the Alliance of Forces for the Prime Minister to be from Shiite blocs.

Raad al-Dahlaki, a Sunni MP in the Iraqi parliament, has proposed choosing a prime minister to replace former Shiite leader Adel Abdul Mahdi, who wouldn’t be from the Shiite component because they monopolized the post since the first elections after 2003.

After the fall of Saddam Hussein, the major political forces of the Shiites, Kurds, and Sunnis adopted a quota system for the distribution of positions to the three presidencies: the prime minister, the republic, and the parliament.

The bloody protests that began in early October in the capital Baghdad and the Shiite-majority provinces succeeded in generating public pressure that led to the overthrow of Prime Minister ,Adel Abdul Mahdi and his government.

The demonstrators refuse to see any formation of the forces and parties that have participated in the political process since 2003 and so far a new government in Iraq instead of the government of Abdul Mahdi, and emphasize the continuation of early elections under the supervision of the United Nations.
