Shafaq News / Basra Police Command announced, on Wednesday, the overthrow of the "most dangerous" drug trafficking in the Al-Faw district, and seized a huge amount of drugs.
The Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Division in Al-Faw said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, “through a qualitative operation, three dealers were arrested, and about 400,000 narcotic pills were seized”.
The statement added, “Legal proceedings have been taken against them and they have been handed over to the judiciary to receive their just punishment”.
It’s noteworthy that Drugs entered Iraq extensively after the fall of Saddam Hussein regime in 2003, the country was initially a transit corridor for drugs from Iran to the States of the Gulf and Europe, before becoming a consumer .
