The reporter of “Shafaq News " said that “ Ki-moon was received by Syrian refugees by setting up events and Art Galleries , noting that more than fourteen thousand refugees had gathered to welcome the UN official .

The Governor of Erbil said in a statement to a number of journalists , including " Shafaq News " reporter that he welcomes the visit of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Erbil, referring to Syrian refugees residing in Kurdistan and their need to aid and more support from the international community , especially in winter and low temperatures that increases the need for refugees for all types of aid .

For his part, deputy head of foreign relations, Dindar Zebari said that the UN official’s visit to Erbil to the Syrian refugees is a qualitative shift in the nature of international attention to the refugees issue to know their needs.

Zebari said that the program of Ki-moon’s visit includes meetings with the region's president , Massoud Barzani , Prime Minister , Nechirvan Barzani and senior officials in Kurdistan .

Zebari added that it was scheduled for Ki-moon to hold a press conference to explain the nature of his visit , but he preferred to be held after the completion of inspecting the camp and get to know the entire situation of the refugees and their needs.

It is worth mentioning that Ki-moon arrived this morning to Erbil and was received by the head of the regional government , Nechirvan Barzani , it is hoped to hold meetings with both of the region's president , Massoud Barzani and Prime Minister , Nechirvan Barzani to discuss the Iraqi crisis and the relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the situation of Syrian refugees in camps set up by the Regional Government in the three provinces of Erbil , Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk .
