An informed source in Erbil said in a statement reported for "Shafaq News", that “ the military leaders and security officials in Kurdistan talked in detail about the recent security developments in Nineveh and Kirkuk provinces and other areas, noting the measures taken by Peshmarga forces   and Asaish in these areas after the withdrawal of Iraqi army forces from them.

Barzani said that the task of Peshmarga forces and Asaish is to protect the lives and property of citizens in Kurdistan, in addition to the displaced people who left their homes and belongings due to the deterioration of the security situation.

Talks about the mechanisms that contribute in strengthening security in Kurdistan and areas where Peshmarga forces entered after the security vacuum was discussed during the meeting through the formation of a number of special committees in various fields.

The crisis and the recent tensions in Iraq and how to deal with the emerging situation were also discussed.
