A statement posted on Kurdistan Regional Government briefed by “Shafaq News " , said that “ a group of MPs known by their relations with the Kurds led a Kurdish MP demanded the British government in a session of the British Parliament yesterday to recognize Anfal operations against the Kurds in Kurdistan Region as a crime of genocide .
A group of MPs that have visited Kurdistan Region last November and visited Syrian refugee camps in the region prepared a report to be submitted to the Parliament of their country.
The statement pointed out that the report that was presented during the meeting included a call on the government to take a series of steps in opening up to Kurdistan Region , by inviting the region's president and prime minister and meet them by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The report called the British Foreign Secretary to visit the region , name a special envoy for trade relations between Britain and the region , and for the Prime Minister to speak at a seminar on the headquarters of Kurdistan , calling on the British Interior Ministry to facilities visas for Kurdistan citizens.
The report also demanded to recognize Anfal operations as a crime of genocide and respect its memory in the 14 of April of each year.
The friends of Kurds group in the British Parliament includes both Nadim Zahawi , Mick Mann , Robert Halphen , Mike Kaabs , Leo Dougherty and a number of other assistants .
