Shafaq News/tens of citizens marched the streets of Basra, on Wednesday, denouncing the PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi's visit to the governorate.
Shafaq News agency reporter said that the demonstrators raised Basra region's flag in front of Basra International Hotel in which Al-Kadhimi is currently residing.
The demonstrations demanded opening an investigation on killing protestors in previous demonstrations, and releasing the wages of 30 thousand employees in the public sector.
The reporter indicated that while the number of demonstrators is increasing, the security forces have closed all roads leading to Basra International Hotel and a special forces team is deployed in front of the hotel building.
The reporter added that the journalists were prevented from entering the Basra International Hotel by order of the Prime Minister’s Office, and criticized inviting private channels exclusively.
Al-Kadhimi arrived, earlier this morning, to Basra governorate and held a session of the council of ministers there, pledging to implement all the demands of its people.
