Shafaq News / An official from Diyala said Wednesday that two maintenance cadres of electrical networks were injured by a roadside bomb that targeted them in the outskirts of al-Mansourieh sub-district, northeast of the governorate.
“A roadside bomb placed on the side of a road in Al-Tina village, north of Mansourieh - 45 km northeast of Baquba, the center of the governorate- exploded this afternoon, targeting the maintenance staff of electrical networks, which resulted in the injury of two of them , “ the source told Shafaq News agency.
“A security force imposed a cordon on the area of the accident, and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital as a search campaign was carried out in search of the attack’s perpetrators."
A security source previously reported to Shafaq News Agency, that ISIS elements blew up two towers and damaged a third with explosive devices in Al-Tina village, north of Mansouriya, indicating that the towers are part of the strategic power line between Mansuriya - Kirkuk, which caused a long power outage in several areas of Diyala and Kirkuk.
The energy transmission towers that extend from Iran to Diyala to Baghdad between the provinces are subject to improvised explosive attacks, amid popular and official demands to form forces to protect the energy towers.
