Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health of Kurdistan Region announced on Friday that it recorded the first infection with Corona virus in the capital, Erbil, bringing the confirmed cases in the region to 9.
The ministry said in a statement received by Shafaq News, that it had conducted laboratory tests for 27 returnees from Iran, showing that a 33-year-old woman had been infected with the virus, indicating that the patient's condition was stable.
The ministry indicated that it had quarantined 2804 people returning from Iran in 30 separate places since the virus appeared, 982 of them have been quarantined until now, after they were found not to be infected with the virus.
With the first infection recorded in Erbil, the total number rises to 9 in Kurdistan Region, 8 in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, one of whom has died so far, while two people died in Baghdad and another in Karbala as a result of the virus.
The number of casualties in Iraq reached 48, distributed as follows: 19 Baghdad, 8 Sulaymaniyah, 7 Kirkuk, 4 Najaf, 3 Wasit, 2 Diyala, 2 Karbala, 1 Maysan, 1 Babil, 1 Erbil.
