Shafaq News / A governmental source in Dhi Qar said today, Thursday, that directors of several state departments have submitted their resignations under the pressure of protesters in the province.

The source told Shafaq News agency that directors of major departments in Dhi Qar Governorate, southern Iraq, submitted their resignations today, under the pressure of protestors who stormed their offices and forced them to. A similar incident took place in the governorate's health department yesterday.

According to the source, the directors of the municipality, roads, bridges and education, as well as the director of  Al-Sheikh Hospital, were among the directors whole filed their resignation.

Shafaq News agency published documents that shows the resignation of a number of managers, accompanied by name, title and signature.

Yesterday, Wednesday, protestors in Dhi Qar forced the director of the province's health department, Abd Al-Hussein Al-Jabri, to resign from his post after they stormed his office.

Al-Jabri appeared in a video, on his desk surrounded by protestors who forced him to write his resignation, which he wrote immediately.

In Basra, the representative of volunteering teachers and lecturers in the province, Muhammad Al-Moussawi, warned, in a statement to Shafaq News agency, that peaceful demonstrations will be staged by of teachers and craftsmen in the province, against what he described as "injustice" that afflicted this segment by the local and federal governments.as they did not receive their pensions in the past months. 

Al-Mousssawi views not approving the payment of the dues as apurposeful act that aims to destabilize the situation in Basrah. Adding that the governorate is wealthy enough to do so, as by its governor.

Al-Moussawi also indicated that a committee was formed to organize the demonstrations.

In Maysan (southeastern Iraq), dozens of citizens protested against the poor living conditions. A source told to Shafaq News agency that the protesters burned tires, protested the curfew and prevented the admission of Covid-19 patients to Al-Zahawi Hospital.
