Shafaq News / A close source to Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi revealed on Sunday, a new agreement between the Kurdish forces and Allawi, regarding the ministerial cabinet of the new government.

The source told Shafaq News, that "the Kurdish forces and Allawi agreed during a meeting yesterday evening to choose a representative for Kurdistan Region within the cabinet, as Allawi put forward the names of candidates for ministerial portfolios of the Kurdish component to agree upon."

He explained that "Today there will be a decisive meeting bringing together the Kurdish forces with leaders of all parties and political blocs, to come out with a position regarding voting on Allawi's government or not."

No political party has endorsed Allawi's nomination, except that leaks talked about his nomination following the agreement between the two largest Shiite blocs, namely, " Alliance Towards Reforms ", backed by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr and Fatah, led by Hadi al-Amiri.

However, Allawi is facing widespread objections from the Kurdish and Sunni political forces as well as the popular movement, which demands an independent personality far from subordination to the parties and outside parties.

On Wednesday, Allawi announced the completion of his cabinet, which he said consists of independent ministers who are competent and far from the influence of the parties.

Controversy remains over the date for the urgent parliament session to consider whether or not to grant confidence to Allawi’s government
