Shafaq News / Medical sources revealed on Saturday that the first minister in the government of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is infected with Covid-19.

Laboratory tests have confirmed that the Minister of Youth and Sports ,Adnan Darjal is infected with Corona virus, the sources told Shafaq News agency.

Darjal is the first minister in the Iraqi government to get infected with Corona virus.

Two days ago, two officials in Nineveh Governorate withdrew from a government delegation’s meeting coming from Baghdad, after leaks that two Darjal’s bodyguards are infected with corona.

According to what an informed source told Shafaq News, the commander of Nineveh operations, Major General Numan Al-Zobaie, and the director of Nineveh municipalities, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, had left the meeting room during Darjal’s  visit to Mosul after leaks that talked about the infection of two of his bodyguards with Corona virus.

He added that the diagnosis of the case was made by Kurdistan Region authorities upon the arrival of the delegation there and its transfer to Mosul directly, noting that the infected men were not allowed to enter Erbil and returned to Baghdad through the airport.

But Darjal and his accompanying delegation met with the majority of local officials in Nineveh.
