Shafaq News/ The leader of the opposition "National Wisdom" movement, Ammar al-Hakim warned on Monday of the spread of atheism , drugs and suicide within the Iraqi society.

"Intellectual, ethical and behavioral deviations such as atheism, drug use, increasing divorces and suicide continue to reach an alarming point and reflect a defect in the Iraqi social structure," Hakim said in Eid sermon at his office in Baghdad.

"The governmental institution bears the greatest responsibility in studying these phenomena, their causes and required treatments," he said, calling for "the need to involve religious, media, social, academic, elite and political institutions in the treatment process through their vast human, moral and material capabilities."
