Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced on Tuesday operating Mosul Seismic Observatory and reopening the observatory headquarters inside the university campus and resuming its work again.
The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring said in a statement today that a specialized technical delegation in the Authority was able to set up the station and train employees of Mosul on observatory mechanism and method of work and dealing with the data recorded by the meteorological services that have been installed.
The observatory's operation came in order to save the lives of citizens from natural disasters caused by earthquakes because Iraq is currently within the seismic line adjacent to neighboring Iran, the statement added.
