Shafaq News / Iraq Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) extended, on Monday, the ban on regular flights in the country until July 22.
The decision includes domestic and international flights, and excludes emergency flights, medical evacuation, air freight flights and planes crossing Iraqi airspace, according to a statement issued by the authority.
ICAA pointed that, "its communication with various airlines operating in Iraqi airports for the purpose of granting official approvals for exceptional trips continues, under the Resolution No. 74 issued by the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety (fighting Covid-19 Pandemic)".
This decision comes despite the fact that the Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced, earlier, that flights to and from Lebanon will be resumed, at the rate of two flights per week.
