Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health and Environment announced recording 21 new confirmed infections with Corona virus in four governorates, including the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, noting to one death of the cases.

The ministry has issued a statement outlining the epidemiological situation for the emerging corona virus in Iraq on Tuesday.

The ministry said in the statement that its laboratories had tested 96 samples of suspected cases in hospitals in various governorates.

The statement clarified that the positive results (new infections): 21 distributed as follows: 15 cases in Rusafa, two cases in Medical City / Baghdad, one case in Basra, and 3 cases in Karbala, noting that one death was recorded in Wasit.

It indicated that the total is as follows: tested forms: 1679.. 154 infections , 41cases of recovery and 11deaths.

The Ministry affirmed its commitment to the international health regulations in dealing with infections, contacts, and suspected cases . The Ministry also affirms that it must abide by its directives and the decisions of the Office Commission Committee No. 55 of 2020 binding, and it also calls on all relevant authorities to hold violators accountable and in accordance with the laws in force.

In its statement, the Ministry called on everyone to make an inevitable commitment to the Ministry’s guidelines and directives regarding personal and social protection in order to prevent the transmission of this disease.
