Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment announced on Monday that it had recorded 35 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 34 recoveries across the county over the past 24 hours.
The ministry said in a statement that specialized laboratories had carried out 2,908 coronavirus tests, bringing the total in Iraq, excluding the Kurdistan Region, to 59,055.
The statement added that the Ministry's laboratories recorded 35 new infections: 12 in Baghdad’s Rusafa, one in Baghdad’s Al-Karkh, one in Najaf, 12 in Basra, one in Dhi Qar, and eight in Muthanna.
No deaths were recorded, the ministry claimed. The statement noted that 34 patients had recovered, as follows: 13 in Baghdad’s Rusafa, two in Baghdad’s Al-Karkh, four in Baghdad’s Madina al-Tib, 3 in Najaf, 4 in Basra, three in Wasit, and four in Sulaymaniyah.
The ministry said that that the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 1,574, while the death count has stayed the same at 82. The total number of recoveries has reached 1,043.
