Shafaq News / The Security Media Cell announced that it is searching for the elements that fired missiles at dawn of Monday, at an American oil company in Basra province, southern Iraq.

The cell said in a statement reported to Shafaq News, "The security forces in Basra province are chasing illegal elements that launched three Katyusha rockets that landed near Halliburton oil company in al-Burjisia area."

The cell pointed out that "a rocket launcher was found in Zubair - Shuaiba road with 11 missiles inside it that were not fired. They were defused and dismantled, and there were no significant losses recorded."

A responsible security source said on Monday, that the American oil company Halliburton in Basra was subjected to a missile attack.

The source told Shafaq News, that approximately 4-5 rockets targeted the company’s headquarters in Al-Barjasia, causing slight material damage.

He added that one of the rockets fell near Eshreen oil well between Safwan district and al- Zubair district.

The source indicated that the American workers left the company and only Iraqis are present there now.
