Shafaq News / The Ministry of Electricity attributed on Tuesday the low rate of energy supply in the country to the interruption of the Iranian gas pipeline equipped for central electrical stations.

The ministry said in a statement today that "the hours of electrical power supply in these days are lower than the previous rates due to conditions beyond the control of the ministry, due to the interruption of the gas pipeline supplied by the Iranian side and allocated to our electrical stations in the central region from 18 November to 25 November because there are maintenance on the gas pipeline inside Iranian territory. "

The statement added that "after pumping resumption from November 25 and until the publication of this statement, the levels of processing did not reach the contractual quantities of gas due to the cold wave sweeping Iran and their need for gas, thus the supply became no more than a quarter of the quantity that we need, especially in the central region stations, specifically Al-Ghaziyeh, Al-Mansuriya, Al-Sadr and Al-Quds stations which led to its stop or reduction in production as follows:

1 – Basmaya Plant with a power of 1300 MW

2- Al-Mansouriya station not working

3- Al-Sadr Station: 250 MW, works by using alternative fuel

4- Al-Quds station 240 MW works by alternative fuel

The statement added, "That is, the total lost energy reached to about 2400 MW of energy available for these stations, knowing that the staff of our ministry is working hard to fix this shortfall through continuous cooperation with the Ministry of Oil to prepare alternative fuels and then operate the largest possible number of units of our stations." .
