Shafaq News / Wasit Governor , Mohamed Jameel Al-Mayahi warned on Saturday, of an outbreak of Corona virus in the province after it recorded 12 infections in the past two days.
Al-Mayahi said in a video clip posted on his page on social media, followed by Shafaq News, "The danger is still present and Corona epidemic may continue for the next 3 months."
Al- Mayahi added, "There are calls to break the ban and rebel against security and health measures," calling on " citizens to cooperate with health teams to ensure that the epidemic does not spread in the province."
Wasit Governor pointed out that "the governorate conducted tests for more than 500 people suspected of being infected with the virus, and the results were negative, that is free from infection with the virus."
Concerning the ban imposed and its consequences on citizens, Al-Mayahi pointed out that “people with limited incomes have been affected by these measures,” noting that “150,000 food parcels have been distributed by volunteers.”
Wasit Health Department announced on Friday, that the results of tests of 134 contacts in positive cases were negative. Noting that two new cases of the disease were recorded bringing the number of positive cases to 23 patients.
