Shafaq News / The Iraqi Minister of Health , Jaafar Sadiq Allawi announced on Sunday that the Iraqi treatments have proven successful with increasing cases of recovery from Corona epidemic, while the United Nations Representative in Iraq called on the Iraqi people to abide by the curfew decision.

Allawi said in a press conference with the United Nations Representative in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, "The numbers of Corona virus infections in Iraq are still acceptable, and our treatments have proven successful with the increase in recovery cases."

Allawi added, "We have full preparations if numbers of people infected with the Corona virus increased."

For its part, the United Nations Representative in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, said that "Iraq has succeeded so far in containing Corona virus, but the challenge continues."

Plasschaert stressed "the necessity to abide by the decisions of the Crisis Cell to prevent corona."

Iraq recorded a significant increase in the number of infections with   Corona virus, as the number reached 214, according to a statement of the Ministry of Health yesterday, while the Ministry of Health in Kurdistan Region announced later that it recorded 7 new infections as 6 of them in Sulaymaniyah and one in Erbil, bringing the total number to 221 , 17 deaths   and 51 recovery.

The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani warned on Sunday, of the outbreak of the new Corona virus in the region, calling on citizens to adhere to the preventive instructions to limit the spread of the virus.
