Shafaq News / The Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment confirmed on Monday that it had recorded a case of Corona virus in an Iranian religious science student in Najaf.

The ministry said in a statement today that the results of laboratory tests conducted today that has taken place on one of the students of religious sciences (Iranian nationality) who had entered the country before the ministerial crisis cell decision to suspend travel showed infection symptoms.

The statement added that the case was revealed when the health teams investigated the visitors and students in their places of residence and were referred to the designated hospital and sent swabs taken from him for laboratory examination with his status in the isolation halls and the results of the analysis showed that he is a virus carrier.

The statement added that all measures have been taken according to the International Health Regulations to deal with the situation , hoping to cooperate with the procedures and publish health awareness messages as possible.

The Department of Health of Najaf announced earlier today, the first case of Corona virus infection in the country, belonging to an Iranian citizen.

The Iraqi government decided on Sunday to prevent entry of Iranians and foreigners from the common land borders between the two countries for a period of two weeks, after the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in Iran.
