Shafaq News / Rasafa Health Department revealed on Tuesday, that 96 cases of Corona virus were recorded in its geographical area, as the high number of infections in Rusafa was due to its population density.

The Director General of Rasafa Health Department, Abdul-Ghani Al-Saadi, told Shafaq News, "The rise in the number of infections on Rasafa side from Al-Karkh and some governorates is the result of the geographical spot and the population density," explaining that "the population of Rasafa has exceeded five million people."

Al-Saadi added that "the gatherings and crowds are one of the main reasons for increasing cases of coronavirus," noting that "the department recorded 96 infections among its departments, including five deaths and 22 cases of recovery."

The Director General of Rasafa Health Department called on the designated authorities to "provide support to popular areas and assist medical personnel in their work."

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the total number of cases of Corona virus rose to 630, and the total number of deaths to 46, while the total number of cases recovered were 152 cases.
