Shafaq News / MP Jamal al-Mohammadawi announced on Wednesday the approval of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to complete legal formalities to question the head of the Shiite Endowment Court.
Mohammadawi said in a press statement today, "We have obtained the approval of the Presidency of the Parliament to complete formal and legal procedures to question the head of the Shiite Endowment Court for serious financial, legal and administrative violations."
"This is based on article 16 of the Constitution, which stipulates that the parliament has the right to question officials of independent bodies in accordance with procedures relating to ministers and may dismiss him by majority."
He pointed out that "we have asked the presidency of the Council to determine the date of questioning in the nearest parliamentary session."
Al-Mohammadawi began in October to collect signatures for members of parliament to question the head of the Shiite Endowment for financial suspicions and legal and administrative irregularities.
