Shafaq News / The Iraqi High Commission for Human Rights (IHCHR) revealed on Thursday, that 500 grams of drugs has entered Basra Central Prison in a dangerous breach to take place inthe prison.
"There are violations in Basra Central Prison and we got information about this issue," Mahdi al-Tamimi, director of IHCHR in Basra, told Shafaq News Agency.
“There is an investigation carried out by the anti-drug agency in this dangerous matter which is more than half a kilogram of crystal drugs entered into the prison in the past period, at the time of the curfew being applied."
"We do not know how drugs were brought into prison, and we followed the matter as the office of the IHCHR with the member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee for Basra, MP Bader Al-Ziyadi,” Al-Tamimi added.
