Shafaq News / The head of State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki commented on Sunday, on the position of the coalition refusing to vote for Mustafa al-Kadhimi's government.
Al-Maliki said about the position of the State of Law coalition regarding voting on the government of designate Mustafa Al-Kadhimi that, "The political project of the State of Law confirms the establishment of a strong and qualified government to bear the historical responsibility before the Iraqi people , firmly and willingly to tackle the serious challenges facing our country in various fields."
Al-Maliki indicated that "our decision not to vote for the government never means that State of Law coalition will not deal positively with any positions and decisions that serve the supreme interests of the Iraqi people ".
While Fadi al-Shammari, a member of the political bureau of "Wisdom" (AL-Hikma) movement led by Ammar al-Hakim announced on Monday that most Iraqi political forces have agreed to give confidence to the government of Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kadhimi.
Al-Shammari said in a statement today that "Al-Hikama, Fateh , Saairun Victory Alliance, and the alliance of Kurdish forces and parties will vote in favor of passing an independent government.
"Iraq is on the brink of an abyss, and the formation of a new government with absolute powers , popular and political support is an urgent national necessity away from private moods and interest accounts,” He added .
State of Law coalition, which has 26 seats in the Iraqi parliament, announced on Sunday not voting for Al-Kadhimi’s government.
The National Coalition led by Iyad Allawi, who has nearly 20 seats, joined State of Law coalition to announce that it will not vote on the government in the parliament session scheduled for this week.
Al-Kadhimi needs half + 1 of the total number of parliament members to pass his government.
