Shafaq News/ The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister ,Thamer Abbas Ghadhban said that the Ministry of Oil is continuing to implement the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers regarding the provision of employment opportunities for graduates of specialized colleges , oil training institutes and others, in addition to decisions and procedures for the appointment of graduates from various engineering fields released since the beginning of 2019.
The minister said that the appointment decisions issued during the past months of 2019 included providing more than (3200) job opportunities for graduates of petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, graduates of science and geology and other engineering specialties who have been appointed according to their specialization in the companies of the ministry, which issued a decision to appoint (1100) of Graduates of oil engineering who have been appointed to a number of oil companies in the form of appointment to permanent contracts in accordance with resolution (174) of 2019 issued by the Council of Ministers and in accordance with the instructions of the federal budget for 2019.
Ghadhban added that ministerial orders were issued to appoint (438) graduates of chemical engineering, in addition to another decision to appoint (250) graduates of engineering colleges in various specialties were appointed in Karbala refinery, in addition to the appointment of (66) graduates of engineering colleges in accordance with the contract system in honor for the Iraqi women, in addition to the availability of (150) functional degrees in the form of a contract for graduates of colleges of geology science.
The minister pointed to the issuance of a decision to appoint (1600) graduates of oil training institutes who were distributed according to the technical competencies of the oil sector companies.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Oil Minister said that according to the directives of the government, oil companies are currently working to provide additional jobs in the oil sector companies for the remaining graduates in engineering and other specializations in accordance with the instructions in force and the federal budget law.
For his part, Undersecretary of Extraction Affairs ,Fayyad Hassan Nehmeh said that the ministry is determined to provide job opportunities for the people of Iraq, as the ministry has formed several committees to develop programs and plans to provide employment opportunities in the oil sector, noting that there are meetings with officials of oil formations and concerned departments to provide job opportunities and absorb a large numbers of them.
