Shafaq News / The Ministry of Health and Environment announced on Monday the discovery of two new confirmed cases of new Corona virus in Baghdad (Rusafa), both of whom were in Iran and recently returned to the country.

The ministry’s spokesman said in a statement today that the infected people were followed by the Ministry of Health staff and samples were taken for laboratory tests and it was found that the results of the tests are positive and they are currently lying in the institutions of the Ministry of Health and Environment to follow up on their health status.

He added that the Ministry of Health and Environment affirms that it takes all the required procedures to deal with cases and those who are in touch with them according to the global health regulations and calls on the ministry to all institutions and citizens to adhere to the directives issued by the Ministerial Crisis Cell and Diwaniya Committee No. 55 of 2020 to confront the emerging Corona virus, as the Ministry confirms the commitment to recommendations that would prevent transmission.

This brings the number of infections in Corona virus in Iraq to 21 people , 10 in the capital, Baghdad, 5 in Kirkuk, 4 in Sulaimaniyah and one case in Babylon, all of whom were on a visit to Iran and recently returned to the country.
