Shafaq News / Diyala Governorate Health Department announced on Thursday, a new infection with Corona virus, increasing the cumulative number to 27 people since the first outbreak began on March 3, while the crisis cell announced the isolation of Bani Saad town, which recorded one death and many cases of the virus.

Diyala recorded at the beginning of this week, a death case of coronavirus for an elderly person at the age of 60 in Bani Saad district, followed by a new death of a young man and 5 confirmed cases of contact with the deceased.

"The results of a laboratory tests of the suspected cases sent to the central public health laboratory in Baghdad showed positive to a woman who was in contact with the deceased a few days ago in Khan Bani Saad district, 18 km southwest of Baquba," health media director ,Faris al-Azzawi told Shafaq News Agency.

" Diyala Department of Public Health sent 207 smears of contact people as the tests of 206 were negative, and only one positive case for the niece of the deceased."

Al-Azzawi indicated that "the total confirmed cases of coronavirus since its emergence in Diyala reached 26 cases, 15 recovered and 4 died, while the remainder are being treated in the main quarantine center in Baquba."

Moreover, a member of the government crisis cell in Diyala, Abdullah Al-Hayali, announced isolating certain areas in Bani Saad district (18 km southwest of Baquba) after recording confirmed cases in addition to a death due to Corona this week.

"The regional isolation of Bani Saad district is a preemptive and preventive measure to prevent new outbreaks of Corona virus, isolate the contacts of the deceased person with Corona virus several days ago, and dispel the local street concerns about the risk of infection," Al- Hayali told Shafaq News Agency .
