Oglu said in a speech at a meeting with representatives of some public institutions, civil society organizations in Siirt province, eastern Turkey that , " We now live the anniversary of Halabja massacre committed by a powerful state that didn’t have mercy."

“Saddam was strong, but because he lacks mercy, he attacked our brothers in Halabja 26 years ago to commit one of the worst massacres in history.”

Davutoglu pointed that history repeats itself now , due to the repeated people who see themselves as strong and do not have any mercy , adding: " Here is the lion oppress and kill the people in the same shape and form , over the period of 3 years , without distinction between a child or a woman or an old man " .
