Shafaq News/ Deputy head of the parliamentary human rights committee ,Yousra Rajab warned of a serious collapse in human rights in Iraq, stressing that the violations against demonstrators and activists are flagrant violation of the human rights provisions of the Iraqi Constitution.

"The use of force, firearms and tear gases, which are dangerous to the lives of peaceful demonstrators, is a serious act of repression of the freedom of expression adopted by the Iraqi constitution," Rajab said in an official statement.

Ragab stressed that "what was witnessed by the demonstrations in Baghdad and the Iraqi provinces of violence and repression of demonstrators will increase the anger of the street and the people on the government and the ruling parties because instead of meeting their demands and listening to their point of view and the reasons that led them to come out with these large demonstrations which are the first of its kind since the fall of the former dictatorship in 2003 and the subsequent corruption in the state institutions that resulted in government failure to provide jobs for young people , a large rise in unemployment and the deterioration of services in all areas are important real reasons that must be addressed if there was a serious will that wants to fulfill the demands of the demonstrators and end the sit-ins ".

Rajab warned of "repercussions , angry reactions and increasing numbers of demonstrators if these wrong actions continue to deal with popular protests through the use of force instead of an immediate and urgent investigation of their most important constitutional demands."

Rajab also warned the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee that it will have another position if these attacks and actions that violate the Constitution and the law and violate the human rights provisions contained in the constitution voted on by the Iraqi people who went out today to express their protest continue as they want to hold accountable all those who caused their suffering , lost their wealth and the deterioration of services are high indicators of poverty and unemployment.

She also called on the Iraqi government to move urgently to release the civil activist ,Saba al-Mahdawi, who was kidnapped in Baghdad by outlaws parties.
