The secretary-general of the ministry Lt,Gen. Jabbar Yawar said in a statement reported for "Shafaq News", that “Peshmarga forces are stationed in the Kurdish areas bordering Nineveh province, indicating that it will not allow "Daash" elements to attack these areas and their inhabitants.
He said that there is no need to bring more Peshmarga elements to those areas so far.
He noted that Peshmarga forces and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior forces and Asaish are all prepared to protect the disputed areas of Vichabour (north-west of Mosul) to Naftkhaneh (southeast Diyala).
Reports indicate the militants of the so-called Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant, known for short as "Daash", had entered into the city of Mosul, and were able to control a number of neighborhoods, which led to the displacement of thousands of its residents to safer areas in the province and outside it.
